The Titling of a NaNovelI haven’t decided what to write for NaNoWriMo this year. All I have is a topic. Candy. (It’s about time I wrote a candy novel.) I thought the whole thing with starting with a title back in ‘04 worked pretty well (that was the year of An Alphabetical Order). I also thought I would work in a different genre this year, as I always do. I’m running out of new POVs, so this one might be 3rd Person Limited. The current title is: Limited Liability Chocolate, an LLC But I’ve been thinking of other titles as well, since I’m going for the Comedy genre. (The LLC novel would be a satire, I believe, somehow involving corporations and chocolate, as the title would imply.) A new title that I’m mulling over would go something like this: A Novel That Has Lollipops in It Of course that breaks my rule about having a title that alphabetically sorts high. It’s a work in progress. |

During November it's all about me writing a novel. Sometimes it's about whalewatching. You know, and then there's other stuff.

How about “Novel w/Lollipops”? That sorts medium to low, and is perhaps even more flippant towards the concept of titling a novel.
Or just Lollipops?
I’m a NEWBIE at NaNoWrimo. I plan on writing a self-indulgent novel that places me as the hero!
Wish me luck.

This world has lot of problems and all of them can be solved <wink> - if only we had a new novel about Candy…
I like LLC a lot and wish I’d thought of it.
Fyi, a popular local musician here is named “Candy Taman.” He’s been around here a long time (more than 20 years)and is popular by local standards. “Here” is a lovely tropical island. The music is definitely island-style.
Send me your mailing address and I’ll send you a CD of his music. You do so much for us at NanoWrimo, I’d like to return the favor a bit.
I’m going to take a stab at NaNoWriMo this year. It’s probably not something that one normally does on a whim, but you really inspired me with your “Lower your standards, broaden your horizons” philosophy. I’ve dabbled in writing before and have begun writing some poetry, but never anything with significant length (I think the longest thing I’ve written was a seven page short story). However, I have ambition and hope, though no plot ideas.
