Twizzler SourzThese were introduced almost two years ago, so I was a little confused by the NEW! starburst on the package. But I hadn’t had them anyway, so into the basket they went. I don’t know when citrus flavors stopped being the normal “sour” flavors, but I’ve missed them a bit. It’s not like blue raspberry is any more natural as a “licorice” flavor than orange or lemon. These are a wheat-based chew, which is what most “licorice” is. The center is flavored and then dusted with a sour sugar coating. They smell really nice as a combo - a little floral, a little fruity and a slight tangy essence. Leave them in a desk drawer and it’s kind of like an edible sachet. They’re wee morsels, smaller than most licorice bites. They have the same basic star shape in cross section, which is great for holding onto all the sour dust. Strawberry - mild in the strawberry department and with a decent tart bite. Cherry - a nice chemical cherry flavor with a solid sour kick, but no complexity. A bit of a bitter aftertaste. Green Apple - a pretty good sour apple flavor with a combo of the floral notes and that realistic apple juice taste and a sizeable tartness that satisfies. My favorite of all of them. Blue Raspberry - floral and with an odd sort of yellow mustard note in there that confused the heck out of me. Not as sour tasting as some of the others and of course the mustard thing was kind of unpleasant. Overall, they’re tasty, but don’t really provide any more candy satisfaction than some other tangy chews that I’ve had lately. I might even prefer the Sour Strings I had this summer or the SweeTarts Shockers - Shockers have the lead because of the variety in a single roll.

Hmmm. I remember having a blue raspberry body wash or shampoo a couple years back and I remember it too having some kind of baffling mustard-y scent.
I can feel my mouth water at the thought of how sour these are.
these. are. so. darned. good.
Hmm, maybe it was a packaging mistake? The ones i bought were pretty fresh and the blue ones were my favorite (:
this is by far the best candy i have ever had. i can eat a whole family size bag in one sitting. once you try them you just cant get enough.
I’m having a difficult time finding these on a regular basis. They are no longer in the major stores (Walmart, Target), and the only grocery store that carries them in my area (Northern VA) is Harris Teeter. Even still, the packages are old and do not look like they’ve been restocked in over a year.
Does anyone know if these have been discontinued? They’ve been my favorite candy since I was introduced to them 1.5 years ago.
Doug - as far as I know they still make them. But I’ve only seen them CVS & 7-11 lately. You might want to try buying them online. (Of course you’ll have to get them in large quantities.)
As my roommate said two days ago, “they make my insides feel like plastic.”
Twerpz, please.
This is my favorite candy. It is becoming harder and harder to find them. A chain called Albertsons used to carry them, then they were bought out by food pyramid. Who luckily still carries them!!!!!!!!!!!!
these are my favorite sour candy of all time- i was just introduced to them 4 weeks ago and have already consumed seven 1lb bags, i can’t get enough of them safeway is the only store which carries them.
Love these!!!!! Have been knocking off bag for a few years now! Just recently my local CVS has stopped carrying them; which was the only place I could get them in my area. I hit up every CVS I come across & nothing. I’ve got a bad feeling these are discontinued. I sent an email to Hershey, who is the maker & I am waiting on a response
I also love these and used to buy three bags at a time at CVS, partly because they hardly ever restocked them…now I’ve been checking three different CVSes for weeks and there’s nothing at all! I’m going to cry if these are discontinued. They’re my favorite candy in the world.
My wife and I are addicted to these and to the new Tear Jerkers Sour Cotton Candy. Also have been having trouble finding either of them. (I usually buy them out when I see them.)
The Twizzler Sourz are not a bad price on amazon if you buy the 48 pack. ($29 -about .60 each - fee ship - no tax)
i saw them at my local blockbuster
Target used to have the bigger, family sized bags for $1.21
I cried when they stopped stocking them D; [not really..but you get the idea]
I used to go to target every Thursday after school and buy some <3
Since then, I haven’t seen them on shelves for over 2 years, but I was at my local Safeway a few weeks ago, and they have the big bags. They were 2 dollars something, but still worth it.
My blur raspberry never tasted like mustard.

Best candy ever. No more.
Fun thing is everyone in the Wexford area, and those who go to the North Allegheny school district love these candies. I love them too, but the stores seem to be discontinuing them for some reason. By far one of my favorite sour candies, they are almost addicting in a way. I hope they start shipping them and restocking more.!
Hope all is well!!

I have been so upset also reguarding the availability of my favorite candy of all time. After reading some of the other comments, i know that they can be bought in bulk. Some of us are unable to financially do so.I would appreciate and explanation from the company as to why they are not available.Maybe I missed something in the news or etc.
