   My mom always got the giant tootsie roll for her movie snack as a kid. She said it lasted her the whole film!

   I think you’re being a little harsh on the Raisinets. I’m pretty sensitive to overly sweet chocolate, and they just don’t hit me that way.

   Have you had the dark Raisinets? They’re not dark enough.

   You have inspired me to try Sno Caps, since I’ve never tasted them before.  I didn’t quite know what they were so I never got them.  I agree on Goobers having some bum peanuts, quite a few of them.  I don’t get them because of that.

   My fav movie snacks are the mini butterfingers, milk duds, and gummy bears.  yum!  also bunch-a-crunch is great when combined with popcorn…

   You might like the dark chocolate Raisinets more.  They’re not really dark but they have a better chocolate flavor than the regular Raisinets.

   I don’t like chocolate covered raisins, never have, somehow I think i’ve always felt it was a cheat to have something healthy inside chocolate. Plain raisins yum, plain chocolate yum. But not together.

   mmm! i love sweet (candy) and salty (popcorn) combos. but for movie going i like taking red vines (NOT twizzlers) and/or reese’s pieces. odd eh? i mean i love all the other stuff gummi bears (also good with popcorn) but everyone’s got their own tastes ^^ ew @ raisinets btw

   yeah Sunny! i love RedVines but not reese’s pieces. i’d take a bite out of a red vine, then a handful of popcorn.
   i actually like raisinets. probably bkus my mom always used to make trail mix with them.

    Oh my god, sno-caps. I had totally forgotten these even existed. I live in Germany and actually can’t remember what those were called here. I have no idea if they’re still around either, haven’t had them since I was a kid. But I used to love those.

    Sno Caps are great with Dr Pepper.  It gets extra fizzy when the soda hits the non-pareil remnants in your mouth.

    I like the idea of Goobers, but I’ve never had a good box of them.  I usually buy other brands of chocolate nuts instead.

    For some reason, I love to eat Milk Duds at the movies. I never eat them any other time.  I like the way they are so chewy, they last a long time.

    My favorite movie treat is P-Nuttles!!  Red Vines and Skittles are also good movie snacks.  I don’t bring chocolate because I mow through it too quickly - usually before the movie starts - leaving me with two hours of no candy…not to mention a sugar buzz, and then a sugar crash!

    Muddy Bears!  Muddy Bears!! Muddy Bears!!!  These chocolate covered gummy bears are my favorite movie-going treat.  I’ve only ever found them at the movie theater and sometimes at Blockbuster but I’m kinda glad for it because I have to eat the whole box in one sitting.

    I love putting plain M&Ms; in my popcorn bucket…they get ooey gooey inside and improve the buttery, salty popcorn even more!  For those of you who aren’t familiar with the joy, just try it next time you’re at the movies!

    Sera - it would have to be a GIANT Tootsie Roll for mine to last a whole film.

    The Velvet Blog & Jess - I did try the dark ones last year and did like them better than the milk ones. But I’ve been spoiled by the “gourmet” ones from Trader Joe’s for many years.

    Julilla - funny that you mention not knowing what Sno-Caps are. Amy (the one who spits things out) was over on Saturday and didn’t want any when I offered them ... she thought they were licorice.

    Sunny & Andrew - my husband feels the same way about Raisinets ... and raisins in general.

    Emily - because everyone was mentioning Red Vines I got them for the movie on Monday. They were very fresh, which always makes them smell like coconut to me.

    Joanne - really? I really don’t like popcorn at movies, but maybe that’s because it’s too noisy.

    Liz - that’s just weird, it’s movie season! (Maybe they hid them over by the DVDs?)

    Gemma - there are other kinds, some are bigger and more “disk-like”. I know there’s a brand of them in the UK but I can’t figure out the name either.

    Dave - I totally agree on the bad nuts. Brach’s actually makes some good Bridge Mix that goes well at the movies. There was a theater I used to go to that let you bring in outside candy (there was a candy shop right next door) and I’d get the Bridge Mix (carefully picking out the Brazil Nuts).

    Lisa - I tried the Junior Caramels, hoping that they’d be like that, but they just don’t have that long chew to them.

    leigh - I’ll try just about anything covered in chocolate.

    Sara - I love Milk Duds and don’t even mind when they’re stale. Unfortunately they stopped using real chocolate on them and I haven’t tried the new mockolate ones.

    Lesley - I love PNuttles now, but I haven’t been able to find them very reliably. I got ONE bag on sale at Ralph’s ... it was the last one and I haven’t seen them since. (I got them for the Peeps Mashup but ate them in the car.)

    Yvette - I haven’t tried the muddy bears. Consider them on the list!

    desertwind - hah! I need to review those too!

    Concetta - I’ve always been a sucker for M&Ms; that are hot from being in the car in the sun. They get really slick and greasy ... the little shells just split apart upon hitting the tongue. Sigh.

    Thanks for posting the notes about the old Blumenthal items. It’s nice to see reminders out there that they go back long before Nestle’s name was on the boxes.

    In the interest of history, the name of the company actually was Blumenthal Bros. Chocolate Company. My grandfather was one of the brothers. The factory, or most of if, still stand in NE Philadelphia, although it’s falling apart.

    I cant believe that there exist so much more bars then the ones they sell here in Holland.
    We only have: twix, bounty, mars, nuts, curlywurly in stores.

    This has to do with the fabric that makes this kind of bars forces the stores to have no other bars.

    Im so borred of our bars, ....
