Java Twix
The cookie and caramel covered in chocolate combination is pretty flexible and creating new versions of this doesn’t mess with the essential Twix-ness (just like there are many different cream and chocolate variations for the KitKat). I’ve been searching for a good coffee flavored candy bar for years, for a country so obsessed with coffee it’s rather surprising that we don’t have one. (Yes, I’m aware of the Coffee Crisp and it just doesn’t do it for me.)
The bar is the standard construction: a chocolate cookie with a stripe of coffee-flavored caramel covered in milk chocolate. It smells sweet and a bit like caramel and graham crackers but not much like coffee at first. Once broken in half and the caramel revealed it has a pleasant roasted-coffee aroma. The caramel is a bit salty with an actual authentic-tasting coffee flavor to it (in addition to the natural and artificial flavors they list espresso ground coffee as an ingredient). The chocolate cookie is crumbly and crunchy with it’s own salty contribution. The milk chocolate on the outside is super sweet but pulls it together. I didn’t like the bar much when I first tried it out on the floor (I split a package with Ginny). But I have to admit that it was day two and I’d really only been eating candy for 36 hours (except for an awesome pile of shrimp at a party the night before).
You can expect these to start showing up later this year (reported release date is December 2007). In other news, if you were a fan of the Triple Chocolate Twix, it’s actually back in the miniature form. Mars released a few “autumn mixes” this year (that included the Vanilla, Strawberry & Mocha 3 Musketeers). The Twix one has regular Twix, Twix Dark Chocolate and Twix Triple Chocolate. I found them at RiteAid in the Halloween candy aisle. I hope the Twix Java at least finds its way into a seasonal bag ... and in dark chocolate please! Related Candies

I’m looking forward to these, as any new coffee flavored candy is worth a try as far as I’m concerned. I like regular Twix, but certainly not enough to eat them on a regular basis. With coffee added, though, I’m optimistic!
I’ve been looking forward to this one. I love coffee flavor, but I try not to drink too much coffee.. having it in candy form is just perfect. I think that there is a market for coffee flavored bars so I hope to see more.
Have you tried the Choxie espresso truffle bar?
I’m looking forward to trying this. I’m glad it didn’t turn out to be Wrigley’s Kona Creme gum bad.
Very cool, I want to try it!
Twix is my favorite candy bar! I may have to give this coffee one a try in December! Thanks for the great preview.
Oh man, I’ve loved mocha anything since I got pregnant with my first child (I hated it before). I can’t wait for this one.
This sounds delicious and I can’t wait to try it!
I just had a Perugina Cappuccino (truffle-type filled bar) and the coffee flavor was excellent. Would have been even better with dark not milk chocolate though.
this is the most goodest thing i ever tryed i think ill have another
I tried my first TWIX JAVA today. WOW. This is nothing like any of the rest of the TWIX candy. Much better. Much much better. Such a shame it’s in a limited edition presentation right now. I’d suggest if you like coffee flavored candy, to indulge yourself and try a bar. Or two. Or more…..no telling when they’ll stop offering it.
I agree! What a great candy bar. I don’t even care for a regular Twix, but I’d buy Twix Java anytime. I’ve only been able to find it once. I hope this will become a permanent, not a limited edition, candy bar!

OMG!!! I love this thing. I have been dipping it in my coffee for the past week. Tastes like a little bit of heaven.
I just found one of these at a nearby convenience store and really liked it. In fact, I went and bought another one yesterday. I admit, it is a little on the sweet side (personally I think it would be even better with dark chocolate) but I love the coffee caramel!
I found this at the dollar store and I might say it is delicious. I wish that M&M Mars brought back the Cookies and Cream Twix.
My boyfriend found this in the grocery store and we tried it and loved it!! But they are so hard to find. WIll they become more popular soon or in more stores?
Whoever thought of them…. they are amazing
These candy bars are AMAZING!!!!! Why can’t they sell them all the time? They are so much better than regular Twix and PB Twix. If the public wants them bad enough and more people requests them wouldn’t they become all time instead of limited? The greatest candy bar I’ve ever tasted.
Discovered these recently in a vending machine where I was in a week-long training class—like chocolate, loooove coffee, not sure how strong the coffee-ness of the bar really is—but it rocked my world AND went really well *with* a cup of coffee. I’m not a big candy person and usually eat half a bar and wrap up the rest for later or split it with someone, but found that impossible with the Twix Java. Really flavorful, more than just a wallop o’ chocolate and sugar. I agree with another poster that it might be even better with dark chocolate. Hope these become a more regular option. Keeping my eyes peeled for them wherever I go now.
I saw the java twix, once and decided ill jus try it.
Its now my favorite candy bar!
I LOVE them.
They are realllly hard to find though.
I saw a box of em one day and bought alllll 36
=)
hopefully they become permanent instead of limited.
I’ve been trying to get lots of my friends to try it.
Most have loved it =]
I am enjoying one right now.
they have them for 39 cents at the 99 cent only stores located in CA. /AZ. / AND NV. by the cases.
I haven’t seen these since early last year. :( I really wish They’d bring back the Java Twix as a regular candy bar.
