Elvis Spotting

imageOkay, weigh in on where you found the Elvis Reese’s Peanut Butter and Banana Creme cups!

I’ve seen them at RiteAid in Los Angeles in both the regular size two packs and the miniatures. (Original review here.)

Here’s an article from today’s Baltimore Sun on the subject (with some other interesting suggestions for Elvis-themed candy combinations as well).

  1. Cybele:  I STILL have had NO Elvis PB cup sightings.  And Portland always seems to be one of the test market cities for candy (could it be because Oregon is one of the fattest states?  Coincidence?)

I haven’t been this excited for a Limited Edition in quite awhile. I’m keeping my eyes PEELED!  Get it?  Peeled… banana peels?  Ha.  My side is about to SPLIT!  Get it?  Split…banans split? (Okay, I’m stopping now.)

    covetously,

  8. Walgreen’s in Phoenix, AZ - they’re on the counter next the register.  The cashiers usually have a candy item they suggest because it’s a promotional sale, and this item is this week’s choice.

  15. I haven’t been looking—since I’m still enjoying the ones that I ordered directly from Hershey’s—but I haven’t noticed any in stores here in the Bay Area, either.

By the way, the order came in a nice tin with an unexpected surprise: a free orange, Elvis cup t-shirt!  That offset the delivery difficulties I had with that particular order.  smile

  21. Hi

Yes.  If anyone sees Elvis in Canada or the release date please post.  I am keeping my eyes peeled at 7-11 and else where.  Everytime reeses comes up with a special edition 7-11 seems to be one of the first stores to have in stocked, and lots of them too

  26. Walgreen’s in Berkeley, CA. I’m shocked. I have no problems finding rare, artisan confections, but usually the fun mainstream items show up last here. Yay! And yum.

  27. It must be a Walgreens thing to carry new stuff.  I finally found them here in NE Florida at none other than Walgreens!  They are good - not my favorite, but they are good.

  28. I just spotted Elvis at my local Walgreens here in MD. First I checked in the candy isle for a good 7 minutes and to my disappointment, Elvis was nowhere to be seen so I walked around to pick up a few other items I needed and proceed to the check out when there he was! They only had the king size, but they were on sale for $1! I can’t wait to try it tonight.

Comment by Katie on 7/06/07 at 11:59 am #
  29. I’ve found them at a few different locations. First, at my local Rite Aid here in Brooklyn on Newkirk Avenue, and then again in Chelsea, at CVS on 24th and 8th. I bought six! I’m so ashamed.

  30. I found them after a long search today at a Walgreen’s (Columbus, Ohio). I thought they were very tasty. A plus is that Hershey’s went with the King size. In regular size cups I don’t think they would have been as good.

  31. even though you’d think they’d grow on trees here at Graceland, I finally found them in Memphis at the supa-scary Walgreen’s on Cleveland and Union. thankya, thankyaverrrrmuch…

  32. (tasted it—it’s pretty good. but having also tasted a fried peanut butter’n'banana sandwich, y’know what it needs? a vanilla-waferish cookie in the bottom of it.)

  33. I found them at a Target here in West Hollywood, CA. I liked the, just for the fact that they tasted almost exactly like regular PB cups. The banana taste was very faint, more like an essence than anything else. I got the bag of miniatures, I could not find the 2 pk.

  34. Cybele's avatar

Diana - I also saw them at Target yesterday (Eagle Rock), again, just the Miniatures (and only at one display at the checkout, not in the candy aisles). $2.59 a bag!

Bethany - I’ve finished all mine so yesterday at breakfast I ordered pancakes with fried bananas ... I should have asked for some peanut butter too!

  35. Found them at the Walgreens on the corner of 98th and 116th in Kirkland, WA.

  37. So now i just found the miniatures at the Walgreens on Spear Street in San francisco.  does anyone else think it’s interesting that the 2 pk has an actual layer of banana creme, while the minitures have all peanut butter inside, and i guess “banana chocolate” on the outside?

  42. Walgreen’s sounds like they are on the BALL!!! i FINALLY found them tonight at the Walgreen in Yonkers after weeks of looking in CVS’s, Mobil Marts, and 7-11’s!!!! However, i was disappointed because they have a subtle artificial banana flavor (that i absolutely despise!) But all in all i like it with the chocolate and peanut butter!

  47. Not seen them yet in the Reno, Nevada area.

Elvis Tribute Artist Doug Church is doing promotions for Reese’s for the Peanut Butter and Banana cups. If you get a chance go see one of his shows. Incredible voice.

I think I am going to be searching our small Mn town for Elvis cups today!! If anyone has any hints for finding them in Mn send them my way smile

  54. Has anybody found these in Sa Jose or Los Gatos or Campbell areas? How’s an Elvis fan supposed to taste these peanut butter and banana cups when they are nowhere to be found? I have looked at Target, Quik-Stop, Walgreens, Longs, Rite-Aid, asst. grocery stores… H-E-L-P!!

  57. Hoorayyy!! I just found out the 7-11 at the corner of Camden & New Jersey has the King-size Peanut Butter and Banana Creme cups!!

The King-size are so much better than the miniature size I found at Walgreen’s at Union & Curtner.

They are packed with banana and peanut butter goodness, wrapped in that deelish milk chocolate!

Why does there seem to be such a wide variety of prices merchants charge for the King-size pkg? My friend in Newark, Ca. pays .89 at a Quik-Stop, yet I paid $1.29 at the 7-11. WOW!

Good luck, you won’t want to miss these sweet treats!
