Dairy Milk BubblyName: Dairy Milk
I picked this up in the interest of documenting all the UK frothed chocolate bars. For those of you keeping score at home, the most well known is the Nestle Aero Bar (which comes in several flavor variations). Not as wide or plank-like as the Aero (about a third of an ounce smaller), this is a little bar contains bubbleated Cadbury milk chocolate. Cadbury milk, for those of you that have had it, is distinctive in that it tastes like chocolate and powdered milk. Some people think that’s a good thing. I don’t find it that appealing as it reminds me of that time when I was poor. But with a little positive reinforcement I’m getting over that and finding the flavor rather intriguing (just like it took me many years to get over the rather yogurty flavor of Hershey chocolate). The bar is light and melts easily on the tongue. It’s sweet, but not as sticky as I found the Aero bar. As with the Aero bar, the bubbles really help to bring out the toasty nuances of the chocolate (I’m guessing the air allows more aromas to combine and give more “flavor” to the bar). I believe the Dairy Milk Bubbles is just the new name for the Cadbury Wispa bar: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/west_midlands/3008325.stm The “Wispa Bite” was a much better iteration. Looks like they replaced the whole Wispa line with the Dairy Milk ... which I never cared for as a name. It’s kind of redundant.
Anyway, it doesn’t look like the Wispa bite made it into the new line.

I only wish I could afford to send you some candies from the UK. I’m studying abroad and a good part of my experience has been trying new candies (good thing we walk a lot over here). May I recommend asking your “sources” to send you Cadbury Double Decker - crisp rice, nougat and chocolate (the version with nuts is not as satisfying as it lacks the softer nougat consistency). The Cadbury mint is also a treat as it contains crunchy green mint bits - I don’t think I’ve had a candy bar like it before. I think I’m falling for Cadbury over Hershey’s - I actually appreciate it’s more milky taste.

I am sad that they replaced the Wispa, even though I was excited to discover this replacement at Christmas because I was afraid that they had just done away with the bubbly chocolate altogether. The sad thing is that there was a Wispa Gold (with caramel in some of the bubble pockets) and Wispa Mint, and those don’t exist anymore, and the Aero mint is just not as good.
Oh well.
If only the switch to the Dairy Milk line would make them sell them more places in the States! I insist on scrutinizing every Dairy Milk display that I pass, just in case, but I am almost always disappointed. At least with the Wispa wrapper I could tell that they didn’t carry it from across the room!

I liked Wispa. But I like these too… actually, come to think of it they are pretty similar.
So yeah, maybe there the same.
Sells well enough on my side of the pond (England)
As a UK resident (and native) I found your round-up of British Candyvery fair and accurate indeed so anyone not from the UK should feel safe in the knowledge you are a recommended source (recommended by me at least).
It is true that the Dairy Milk Bubbly bar is a relation to the old Wispa bar - just a slightly different shape. Cadbury has taken a sweep of its range and re designed the bars and packaging to fall under the Dairy Milk Umbrella.

Much as I love Dairy Milk chocolate (born and bread UK) the Bubbly is just NOT the same as the Wispa I remember from my childhood…
