2. Ooh, I definitely have to try malteasers. I’ve heard of them but haven’t run across them yet. (But the Whoppers Twosomes are pretty satisfying right now.)

   Sainsbury’s is a ways to go for me, maybe next time I’m over on the westside I’ll make sure to stop by.

3. Cybele, you can find Curly Wurlys over at Sainsburys on Wilshire. Just got one myself, and they are deeeeeelish!

   I also recommend the Malteasers (available in both white and milk chocolate). They are, as you can guess by the name, malted milk balls. Greatly superior to Whoppers, though not quite as good as the Good Harvests (?) kind they sell at Ralphs.

4. music fan, I think you’re confused. Springsteen wrote Blinded by the Light. The more well known version of the song was done by Manfred Mann’s Earth Band.  Perhaps you’re thinking of Rundgren’s “Bang on the Drum All Day.”

6. I also was a big Marathon fan, threw a fit when they were discontinued.  I think the “Blinded by the Light” reference might be to a helicopter.  Who knows what Springsteen was thinking about back then.

8. These are really good cold or frozen, too, and less chocolate gets on your shirt. You do run the risk of breaking your teeth, though.

9. I found CurlyWurly bars at BevMo in West Hollywood.  They had several Cadbury chocolates, not as many as India Sweets and Spices, though.  It was mighty tasty, and seeing the braided candy was a real blast from the past!

11. I remember when those Marathon bars were introduced, and they were pretty good. I remember, too, being disappointed at first because I thought I was getting a huge candy bar, only to find it was mostly air, but that was before I bit into it.

    And now I’ve learned about early-pearlies, ins, and curly wurlies.

12. strangely, in the UK we used to have a Marathon bar as well, but it was renamed Snickers in the late 1980s
