Yes, on Monday I’ll launch my first head-to-head review. I’ll take on the original gummi bears, Trolli and Haribo. I’ll tell you what flavor each color actually is and give you my assessment of which bear is best.
Haribo is totally the winner. Especially when you take into account their other fine products like Sour Spaghetti, peaches, Tangfastics, Cola bottles… on and on.

You’re right Lisa, I had a hard time photographing the Haribo bears so that they didn’t look evil.
I prefer Haribo myself. Trolli always felt a little too artificial… not that any kind of gummi animal is NOT artificial. But I digress…
In an unrelated note - do you know anything about Luden’s cough drops? I am trying to figure out specifically what happened to the CHEWY version of their cough drops that used to exist but dissapeared long ago.
Any info?
Thanks! (Great blog btw)

Totally Haribo. Much better flavor. Trolli seems waxy to me. And Haribo Twin Cherries are addictive.

Hello,
My name is Rob McGrory and I am a librarian in Queens, NY. I’ve been trying to get hold of a play by Cybele May titled: “Once Buried, Twice Shy” and have been thus far, unsuccessful. If I could be pointed in the right direction, that would be very helpful.
Thanks so much in advance.
Meticulously photographed and documented reviews of candy from around the world. And the occasional other sweet adventures. Open your mouth, expand your mind.

I totally bet Haribo is going to win. I love those little guys. (Although in your battle image, the Trolli bear is noticeably cuter.)

Haribo was definitely my favorite going in.
