Nestle’s known for the Nestle Crunch bar. This one is a bit of a twist. This huge, light block of a bar has layers of crisped cookie alternating with creamy coffee coated crisp. It’s all covered in a light layer of milk chocolate or more likely a waxy chocolate-like product.
It’s very sweet, but though the bar is large, it’s very light and crunchy. The ingredients list such artery-clogging items like palm and shea oils and hydrogenated soy oil. But I’m doing this for the good of science so I tossed aside my usual embargo on trans fats and wolfed this down.
The scent of coffee as you bring the bar to the mouth is quite evident, but the taste really isn’t there. The bar has lots of good textures, the crunch was crunchy without being dangerous like Cap’n Crunch or anything. But the whole thing was just too sweet and oily feeling. It’s a satisfying bar in that you don’t even feel you need to eat the whole, but it’s not one I’d probably buy again.
Rating: 5 out of 10
(Note, since this review the Coffee Crisp is now distributed widely in the United States by Nestle and was reformulated to contain only a trace of trans fats.)

That’s funny! Not finishing *any* candy is probably the only worry I’ve never had. It’s never even occurred to me not to scarf the whole, damn thing down.
Thats not a bad price for this bar. Its about that much here in Ontario, Canada. I really love Coffee Crisp. They have come out with a lot of new flavors. Orange, latte, mocha, caramel.
Have you ever reviewed( i havent read your whole blog yet) Nut goodies? OMG, I LOVE THEM. Try to get one. They are made by pearson in Mineapolis.
Ok I love the candy but I can’t find what i need on the website i’m on NOW!!!I need to now the nutrition information for the AREO bar.And any other MIlK CHOCOLATE BAR that is puremilk chocolate.Ilove your candy so keep up the good work.
Cheers, and GREAT work keeping us informed and up-to-date on the Sweet Happenins !!! If your ever in the Golden Horseshoe, check out a candy store called SweetRage. Most impressive to say the least. Caramel Clouds (their spin on caramel corn), SpongeToffee (NO preservatives) SpongeToffee coated with chocolate (TO die for, I swear !) Better yet, check out the site and order online. Judge for yourself, http://www.sweetrage.ca.
This is one of my favorite chocolate bars - in part because it’s my Dad’s favorite chocolate bar. I always bring back a bag full of mini bars when I visit my family in Canada.
I am curious as to why this delicious treat is not carried throughout the USA. My first experience was while working for Air Canada, which served it onboard their flights. Since, I am hooked and have been unsuccessful in locating a retailer in northeast Ohio.
PLEASE SEND A CATLOG ON YOUR NESTLE & HERSHEY M&M’S BECAUSE I SELL THIS PRODUCTS ALSO IN MY CANDY STORE.
THANK YOU

Frank Sebastiano- This site is simply a candy review site. It is not owned by Nestle or Hersheys. That said, try looking for contact info on the actual Nestle or Hersheys company site
Coffee Crisp is available in the US. I just saw these at my University Bookstore. I live in Massachusetts.
Although many don’t know it for some reason, here is the website that pioneered the whole phenomena of supplying canadian chocolate bars on the internet (back in 1999 located in Washington State). Bars include Coffee Crisp, Aero, Smarties, Caramilk, Wunderbar, all the classic bars shipped from the USA.
Thanks for the link, Mark.
I don’t think I like any of those bars enough to ever order a whole box of them but it’s good to know.
What I’m looking for at the moment is a source for Canadian-made Hershey bars/products.
i am looking for anyone who knows where to find cases of orange coffee crisp. They are my mom’s favorite and she has run out and i would like to get her some for her birthday this year like my dad did the year he died… if anyone can help me out with this info i would be very grateful
